Thank you to Elliot's mom who came in February to teach us all about Lunar New Year and to make our very own dumplings! What a special treat it was!

Exploring Europe
Tuesday, students explored the following maps of Europe:
*population density
*lights at night
*landmarks
*countries
*amount of sun
In partners, students compared and contrasted the maps and recorded things they saw, they thought, and they wondered about. I was quite impressed!

100th Day
The 100th day of school is just around the corner and we are slowly but steadily reaching our goal of 100 cereal boxes so keep sending them in. Our plan for the 100th day is to collaborate with 3 other second grade classes to host our own Davis School Olympics. We have fun activities planned which include an opening and closing ceremony. I was hoping that families could send in a white t-shirt for students to decorate at school. It can be a new t-shirt or an old one we can turn inside out. The students will prepare them prior to the 100th day, which is on February 9th, so please send the shirts in by February 7th. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
Valentine's Day
Dear Families,
I would love to welcome all parents in on Wednesday, February 14th from 9:30-10:30 to participate in some Valentine’s Day crafts with your child. This time, I will be organizing the crafts so please just come in and enjoy some time with your second grader. I hope to see you then!
